Sunday School: Sunday School is held every Sunday from September until May for ages 3 through 5th grade. It begins with the service at 10:30 with children being dismissed downstairs for Sunday School after the childrens’ sermon. Rally Sunday for the 2011-2012 year is September 11th.
Vacation Bible School (Day Camp): This is held every summer jointly with Zion Lutheran for ages 3 through 6th grade. VBS during the summer of 2012 will be held at Zion Lutheran.
Stepping Stone Model: This is something new for the 2011-2012 school year initiated by Pastor Irv and the Discipleship Committee. The Stepping Stone Model was developed to help us be more effective in forming young disciples. This model begins with baptism continuing through the rite of confirmation, and beyond into adulthood. An activity is planned for each age level. Two of the first “stones” to get rolled out will be for the 3rd and 4th graders.
On Rally Sunday, the 3rd graders through their parents will recieve Bibles during the worship service. On the following 3 Tuesdays Pastor Irv will meet with them after school at the church for Bible lessons.
The theme for 4th graders is “loving and serving your neighbors and community” and the first project will be to establish an adopt-a-grandparent relationship with an older member of our church family.

Religious Release Time: This meets during the Fall of the school year through December on Wednesday mornings for grades 3 through 6. Students walk to First Lutheran where Zion Lutheran members teach the 5th and 6th grades and First Lutheran members teach 3rd and 4th.
Confirmation Classes: Classes are held throughout the school year for grades 6 through 9. The first Wednesday of each month is a large group session for all 4 grades and their parents. The remaining Wednesdays are class for grades 7 through 9 with the subject matter the Bible and Small Catechism. Confirmation is taught in conjunction with Zion Lutheran with some sessions being held at each church.
